This project scrapes, analyzes, and visualizes political polling data to track trends in public opinion.

I discovered a love of polling and electoral analysis whilst working as a research analyst at political consultancy global Counsel. Here I was tasked with building and maintaining an in-house database that tracked all these different measures, such as voting itnention, most important issues, PM approval etc.

That was a manual job and whilst the process wasn't too painful, I did think throughout that it would be cool to automate this with a web-scraping programme.

I spent a few days building this (should have been studying on my reading week at uni) and got pretty far with it. Data comes from a variety of sources but shouthout to Mark Pack for his voting intention tracker and for just generally being the GOAT of UK opinion polling.
